     VG–20 bitumen is mostly used in spraying applications including paving and some kind of surface-dressing. VG-20 is used for paving in cold climate & high altitude regions. VG is the shortened of viscosity grade and In this third revision grading of Bitumen is changed from penetration grade to viscosity grade. This grade of Bitumen is mainly used in the manufacture of hot mix asphalt for bases. They achieve very flexible and tenacious connections with other materials due to the mostly viscoelastic response of bitumen, which behavior depends on how fast charges are applied. The quality of this bitumens is improved than a penetration bitumen.

This so-called grade of refinery bitumen is said to be derived from the aeration of vacuum distillation tower batons and are divided according to their viscosity.
