Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET)

Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) is the most widely used thermoplastic polymer in the world.

Today’s most commonly used bottles are made of polyethylene terephthalate, which is specifically marketed as PET.
PET is a polymer made from petroleum hydrocarbons, which creates a reaction between terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol.

Pet types
Polyethylene terephthalate is addressed to the textile industry as a polyester. In the food and beverage packaging industry, it is referred to as PET or PET resin. In the past, another kind of PET-P was used in the garment industry, which is using it now almost stopped.

Disadvantages of polyethylene terephthalate

It has a sensitivity to oxidation. This means that there is a possibility of changing the greediness of the beverage in the bottle.
Pet is virtually indistinguishable in nature and therefore a threat to the environment.
